Hi, I’m Karen Lara
I help teachers build a clear classroom identity so student engagement can grow at the root.
Looking back, this was always the foundation of my classroom, even before I had the language for it. From the very beginning, I was creating an environment where students understood how to show up, how to be part of the classroom, and how to engage in learning.
It wasn’t something I added later.
It was what made everything work.
Over time, I began to see the bigger picture.
The classroom that runs smoothly, where students are engaged and learning flows, are not built on constant reminders, behavior systems, or the best instructional strategies.
They are built on something deeper.
They are rooted in a clear classroom identity.
When that identity is missing, teachers end up carrying everything.
When that identity is clear, students begin to carry it with you.
That’s the work I do with elementary teachers.
With almost two decades of experience as an elementary teacher, instructional coach, and intervention teacher, I’ve worked in classrooms at every level.
And across all of them, the same pattern holds true.
Engagement is not something you force. It’s something that grows from the roots of your classroom.
I help you build the foundation your classroom needs to work.
You don’t need to do more.
You need to build something stronger at the root.
